Welcome to Xenia, 233 years after the trade rifts of interlacing worlds mysteriously shut – cutting off loved ones from family, species from their heritage, and stifling its own unique cultural progression. Lands now settled by segregated races, some inhabitants still dream of the day when the wayward rifts will reopen, paving the way to new experiences, adventure, and a little more breathing room. Others believe the rifts are nothing more than myths, stories told by traveling merchants to inflate the value of their wares. While each individual race, though distinct in appearance, came into existence simultaneously, no differently than a goat and chicken are upon this world.
There are some of course, like Garrett Asher, who have a different perspective. You see, Asher isn’t concerned with myths and legends of long vanished rifts. His only care is when the watchful eye of those merchant’s turn just long enough for their wares to be, as he puts it, “acquired”. To be fair, that may not be his “only” care. He has, of course, had his eye on the red hooded woman at the far back of the pub, and his cup is just a bit emptier than I’m sure he’d prefer. You see, the life of a thief is quite the momentary one, indeed. Boundless hopes and dreams are difficult to fathom when each night may just be your last…but then, that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them.
